The 5 Best Match Masters Perks to Win Games
Choosing the right perks in Match Masters will increase your chances of winning, especially if you use them alongside the right boosters. Every Match Masters perk has its unique ability, some are more effective for different game modes and others work best in specific situations.
I’ve used every perk in Match Masters in all game modes, but only a few have helped me win a lot of matches and get into the Legends League quickly.
The good news?
I’ll share with you the best Match Masters perks I’m still using and when to use each one.

What Makes the Best Match Masters Perk?
You can still win some PVP games even if you pick perks randomly, but you can’t win competitive modes or events such as Match Rumble or tournaments.
So a great perk needs to:
- Fix a bad board
- Create an extra move
- Charge your booster
- Work in most game modes
- Sets up a big combo

The 5 best Match Masters Perks
Here are my favorite 5 perks and why I rely on them:
1. Mini Cleo
Mini Cleo is the perk I pick in almost every game because of its versatility which allows me to get out of difficult spots.
This perk drops a scarab on a piece you choose, then it adds multiple similar pieces in different random slots on the board.
I use this perk to duplicate the blue stars to charge my booster and activate it faster, and to duplicate special pieces such as lightning or bomb, or to duplicate a high score piece like the crystal in the “Gem Grab” mode.
That’s why I put this perk as my number one option.
2. Teleport
This is the perk I use in combination with Mini Cleo in the games I really want to win.
Teleport lets you switch the positions of any two pieces on the game board, so you can lock in the move you actually want.
So you can use this perk to gain an extra move, or to move the piece that is blocking your star match. You can also use it to trigger a special piece.
But here is my best way to use this perk: Many PVP modes give you two moves per round, so if I locate a possible match of 4 or 5 that lacks only one piece, I use my first move then use Teleport to move the missing piece to create an extra move, which will recover the move you already spent.
Very cool.
3. Energy Boost
The Energy Boost is also a powerful perk that has a bunch of different uses. When you activate it, your next match charges your booster as if you matched blue pieces (no matter the color) plus it doesn’t cost a move.
Now, let me show you some tips to use the Energy Boost perk like a pro.
You can use this perk to match 4 or 5 pieces to recover the turn you’ve already consumed (as I explained for Teleport) while you’re charging your booster. You can use it to match two special pieces to fully charge your booster with one move.
On top of that, I always replace the Mini Cleo with Energy Boost in the modes where you can trigger big chain reactions:
- Moves Extravaganza, where you can match X pieces to get extra moves, which give you more chances to restore your wasted move.
- Color Crystals, as crystals explode all pieces matching their color allowing you to fulfill your booster’s energy.
- Color Crush that makes matches explode all pieces of the same color (blue/red excluded), which also charges your booster.
Moreover, Energy Boost is very effective when you pair it with some boosters like Monkey Joo Joo, Billie Boom, or Checkmate Charles, just to name a few.
4. Checkerboard
Like the name says, the Checkerboard perk creates a checkerboard pattern by duplicating two random colors on the board.
This perk is incredibly effective in some modes like Moves Multiplier, as the pieces’ points multiply with each move. Or in Crazy Columns since each column has a different score.
Also, it can be helpful in Rainbow where each color has a different score, and if you’re lucky and the perk duplicates the yellow pieces (the highest score tiles), you’ll score like crazy.
You need to use the Checkerboard with the Hammer if you want to get the most out of it. Here is how:
Activate the Checkerboard and use the Hammer to remove the bottom corner piece (either side works) and you will get a board full of extra moves.
5. Star Maker
Star Maker adds blue stars to your board, which can help you charge your booster when there are no blue star matches available.
To be honest, I keep this perk only as a second option when I don’t have the Mini Cleo, but it’s still better than most other perks and that’s why I’m including it here.
